Privacy & sharing

Your privacy controls

Where each privacy control lives in Taiga Finance, and which page covers it in full.

Taiga Finance’s privacy controls answer three separate questions: what leaves Taiga Finance for AI, what the other member of your household is shown, and what Taiga Finance keeps when you go. There is no single privacy switch. The AI switches sit in Settings › AI & Privacy, each account’s Sharing setting sits in that account’s own panel, and export, wipe, and delete sit in Settings › Your data and Settings › Danger zone.

A privacy control in Taiga Finance governs one flow of data: what goes to Anthropic’s Claude, what your household member is shown, or what Taiga Finance holds. The three are independent. Changing one leaves the other two as they were.

  • What we send to AI — every AI feature and the data it sends to Claude, from a merchant name for categorization to a whole statement for PDF import. It also covers the two switches, and why one member’s switch turns AI off for the household.
  • Couples & household visibility — what the other member is shown under Joint, Balance only, and Separate, of a transaction marked private, and of your plan lines, funds, points and equity. An account you have not set is Separate, and only its owner can change that.
  • Leaving or removing a member — the exits: a member deletes their sign-in, the admin removes a member, or an admin hands over the role or deletes everything. Each shows what stays with the household and what goes, and none can be undone.
  • Your data: export, wipe, and delete — what each of the three leaves behind, and how to request a full erasure.

I can’t find the Sharing setting on the Settings page.

Section titled “I can’t find the Sharing setting on the Settings page.”

Neither Sharing nor Make private is in Settings, because each applies to one account or one transaction. Sharing is in the account’s panel, opened from Accounts. Make private is in the transaction’s drawer, on a joint account.

Is there one switch that turns everything off?

Section titled “Is there one switch that turns everything off?”

No. Each of the three flows has its own control, and none of them overrides the others.

The sharing ones. A Sharing change, a private transaction and a fund’s owner flip back at any time. Remove, Wipe my data and Delete my account cannot be undone.
