Using Taiga Finance
Import points history from a screenshot
How Taiga Finance rebuilds a loyalty program's balance history from one screenshot of its activity list — the only file a points import takes.
On the Import page, open the Rewards points tab, choose the program, and drop a screenshot of its activity list. Taiga Finance reads the dated earned and redeemed rows with AI, you confirm the current balance and the rows in a review step, and it rebuilds the program’s history back from that balance. A screenshot is the only file a points import takes — there is no PDF or CSV path for loyalty programs. You can also start this from Points: on a program’s drawer, click Import activity.
What is a points-activity import?
Section titled “What is a points-activity import?”A points import turns one screenshot of a loyalty program’s activity list into dated readings and redemptions on that program’s timeline. Loyalty sites show activity as a screen of earned and redeemed rows, so Taiga Finance reads that image with AI rather than asking you to type each line. It reads one screen at a time and treats it as a window on the account, not the whole history. The image is read once in the request and never stored.
What do I need before importing?
Section titled “What do I need before importing?”Reading a screenshot is an AI feature, so it needs AI turned on. With AI off, the Rewards points tab and the Import activity button are disabled and read Points import from a screenshot needs AI features — turn them on in Settings › AI & Privacy. Turn on the Smart categorization & enrichment switch in Settings, then reopen the import. Each account also has a daily cap on points imports.

Open Import, then the Rewards points tab. Pick the program the activity belongs to from the tiles, or choose New program to name one that Taiga Finance creates when you apply the import.
-
Drop the activity screenshot on Drop your activity screenshot, or click to browse. It accepts PNG, JPEG or WebP · one screen of the list.

-
Taiga Finance reads the screenshot and opens the Review step. Confirm the Current balance it read at the top, then check each row’s date, amount, and whether it’s an Earn or a Redeem. A row read with low confidence is flagged look so you can check it; nothing is dropped or guessed.
-
Click Apply import. Taiga Finance writes the readings and redemptions to the program and updates its balance and trend. The done card shows what landed, with View program to open it.
What does the review step show?
Section titled “What does the review step show?”The review step is one canvas: the current balance you confirm, the extracted rows as an editable table, and a live Proposed history curve that redraws as you edit. Taiga Finance reconstructs the history backward from the confirmed balance, so nothing is asserted before the oldest captured row, and every proposed value stays editable after you apply.
Two disclosures may appear, and neither blocks the import. An Unaccounted interval notes points that the captured rows don’t explain between two dates, with Add the missing row to fill it. A near-miss notes when an imported redemption looks like the one already logged on a nearby date, with Drop the imported row if it’s a duplicate. Rows Taiga Finance already has on the timeline are skipped and counted, not written twice.

The upload is rejected as the wrong file type
Section titled “The upload is rejected as the wrong file type”The file isn’t an accepted image. Taiga Finance says “The screenshot must be a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image.” — most often a PDF or a CSV was chosen. Open it, take a screenshot of the activity list, and upload that.
Upload fails with “This screenshot is too large — the limit is N MB. Crop it to the activity list and try again.”
Section titled “Upload fails with “This screenshot is too large — the limit is N MB. Crop it to the activity list and try again.””The image is over the size limit the message names. Crop it to the activity rows and drop it again.
Upload fails with “Daily points-import limit reached — please try again tomorrow.”
Section titled “Upload fails with “Daily points-import limit reached — please try again tomorrow.””Each account has a per-day cap on points imports. The count resets the next day; the manual Add snapshot and Log redemption on a program have no cap.
The review says “No activity rows found in this screenshot.”
Section titled “The review says “No activity rows found in this screenshot.””Taiga Finance read the image but found no dated earn or redeem rows — usually a balance page or a summary rather than the activity list. Screenshot the list of dated activity and try again.
Can I import a PDF or CSV of my points?
Section titled “Can I import a PDF or CSV of my points?”No. A points import takes an image only — PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Loyalty programs have no CSV or PDF path, unlike transactions and statements. Screenshot the activity list from the PDF or spreadsheet and import that.
Do I have to create the program first?
Section titled “Do I have to create the program first?”No. Choose New program on the Rewards points tab, or start from Add program → Import a screenshot on Points. Taiga Finance creates the program when you apply the import, so abandoning the flow leaves nothing behind.
Does importing the same screenshot twice double my history?
Section titled “Does importing the same screenshot twice double my history?”No. Rows already on the program’s timeline are skipped and counted as already there, and a redemption that looks like one you logged is flagged as a near-miss to drop. The apply writes only what’s new.
Can I fix a reading after importing?
Section titled “Can I fix a reading after importing?”Yes. Every imported reading and redemption is an ordinary point on the program’s history, editable in the drawer. The confirmed balance and each proposed value stay editable after apply.
Why one screen at a time?
Section titled “Why one screen at a time?”Taiga Finance reads a single image per import and treats it as a window on the account, not the whole history. Import an older screenshot to fill in earlier history and a recent one to top it up; each reconciles against what’s already on the timeline.
